HOUSING and Water Minister, Collin Croal, has committed to addressing a number of issues in several communities within the Crabwood Creek area, Region Six.
Accompanying the minister were a number of senior technical officers from the Ministry of Public Works, the Guyana Water Incorporated and the local Neighbourhood Democratic Council.
Residents complained of limited access to potable water, the deplorable state of roads within their community and the need for timely processing of ownership documents for lands.
Consequently, Minister Croal committed to addressing the water woes in the area, forthwith. As early as today, a team from the Guyana Water Incorporated will be meeting with residents who have their necessary documentation in place, in a move to commence the process of service connections.
Also, the local NDC will be asked to submit a list of street names that are in dire need of repairs, to the Ministry of Public Works for its intervention.
For land issues that fall under the Ministry of Housing and Water, Central Housing and Planning Authority, Minister Croal said that already steps were being taken to expedite the processing of transport and titles for Region Six.
