Top officials deliver motivational talk to Cummings Lodge Secondary students

THE Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber (GOGEC) on Friday hosted a training and motivational seminar for students of Cummings Lodge Secondary School at its Training Centre on Middle Street, North Cummingsburg, Georgetown.

According to a release, the students were addressed by the President of GOGEC Manniram Prashad, and Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn, who are both graduates of Cummings Lodge Secondary School.

The students, GOGEC noted, were also addressed by Commissioner of Police (ag) Clifton Hicken; General Manager of SBM Offshore Guyana Martin Cheong; Denis Chabrol of news outlet Demerara waves; and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GTT Damian Blackburn, who all gave motivational ‘pep’ talks to the students.

The Managing Director of HHSL Safety System Guyana Herman Vieira outlined the various job opportunities that exist in the oil-and-gas sector, while Joel Bhagwandin, Financial Analyst, explained the oil and gas sector from an economic point of view.

Further, GOGEC said the students were presented with their certificate of attendance by Victor Fernandes, President of the Linden Chamber of Commerce.

GOGEC has thus far conducted training for students at Annandale Secondary, Apex Education, Christ Church, Bishops High School, St. John’s College, St. Joseph’s High, St. Stanislaus, Brickdam Secondary, North G/town Secondary, St. George’s High School and Charlestown Secondary.
