Outgoing passenger accused of ‘ganja’ trafficking gets $300,000 bail

TWENTY-FOUR-YEAR-OLD Jamal Millington was, on Friday, charged for attempting to traffick marijuana concealed in ‘Pringles’ potato chips tins through the Eugene F. Correia International Airport, Ogle.

Millington, a resident of Amelia’s Ward, Linden, appeared before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Sparendaam Magistrate Court and was granted $300,000 bail.

He denied that on February 8, 2022, at Eugene F. Correia International Airport, he had 56.3 gramms of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

His attorney, Javon Cox made an application for reasonable bail.

Magistrate Liverpool released Millington on $300,000 bail with the condition that he lodges his passport at the court. The matter was adjourned until April 4, 2022.

According to a Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) statement, Millington was detained, on Tuesday, after he was caught with a quantity of marijuana concealed in ‘Pringles’ tins in his luggage. At the time, he was an outgoing passenger.
