A 64-year-old man has lost his life after purportedly falling from the roof of a Yorkshire Hall, Mahaicony property, which is owned by his employer, Totaram Piralall.
According to police report, Omrowa Samlall, of Lot 209 Block 12, Non Pariel, East Coast Demerara, fell to his death around 11:30 hrs on Friday.
Piralall, in his report to the police, claimed that he was in his bond when he heard one his workmen screamed loudly. Shortly after this, the workman rushed to the bond to report what had happened.
Upon receiving the news, Piralall rushed to the scene, where he saw the victim lying motionless on the ground.
The businessman, along with two of his workers, picked up Samlall and rushed him to the Mahaicony Public Hospital, where he was seen and pronounced dead on arrival.
The body is at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination, as investigations continue.
