Everest/DCC and GCC/Police to clash in Two-Day semi-finals today

FOUR of the top clubs in the city will meet from today to contest the General Industrial & Supplies Enterprise (GISE), Star Party Rentals, and Trophy Stall First-Division Two-Day semi-finals.

According to a release from the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA), Everest Cricket Club (ECC) will host the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) while Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) will have Police Sports Club (PSC) as their visitors. Both matches commence at 09:30hrs.

The ECC will be led by leg-spinner Amir Khan and West Indies Under-19, Matthew Nandu, has been enlisted in the squad along with former Test opener Rajendra Chandrika.

DCC will be led by national all-rounder, Christopher Barnwell, and will be supported by Trevon Griffith,. Also in the team are the experienced Paul Wintz and Trevon Garraway, alonf with a host of talented national youth players.

Over at Bourda, the home side will be led by Devon Lord and will look for a lot of support from Winston Forrester and Ronaldo Alimohamed and the talented Mavindra Dindyal.

PSC, despite missing some players due to national duties, is power-packed and will be captained by Kevon Boodie. Kemol Savory, Quintin Sampson and Ronsford Beaton along with off-spinner Kelvin Leitch will be present.

Meanwhile, there will be a Noble House Seafoods Second-Division Two-Day match between Bel Air RUBiS and hosts PSC from 11:00hrs.
On Saturday, there will be a GCA Under-15 practice match at DCC from 09:30hrs, as they prepare for the Demerara Cricket Board Inter-Association tournament.
