A THIRTY-NINE-year-old man was, on Monday, arrested by ranks from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) after more than $4.7 million worth of cannabis was found in the car he was driving.
Duvendra Sukhdeo of Republic Park, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was intercepted by CANU ranks at Rahaman Park, Houston, also on the EBD.
According to a report from the agency, ranks, acting on information received, intercepted the vehicle. During a search they discovered eight bulky parcels containing suspected local and foreign cannabis weighing 15.566 kilograms.
Sukhdeo was arrested and is currently in custody at CANU headquarters.
