A TEAM of some of Guyana’s most talented creatives on Tuesday lit up the centre stage of the National Day Celebrations at the Expo 2020 Dubai.
With a series of musical renditions, spoken word and cultural performances, the performers wowed the crowd of foreign governmental officials and investors.
Clad in the colours of the Golden Arrowhead, the performers painted the ambience of Guyana’s most treasured scenery, and sang songs accompanied by dances of the country’s melting pot of culture and traditions.

No stone was left unturned as the performers also highlighted the country’s rich biodiversity. Performances were done by Sammy Medas, Tennicia Nekeita, Winston Alexander, Poonam Singh, Gavin Aaron Mendonca, the Christina Daniela National Dance Company and dancer, Jellis.
Meanwhile, President Dr. Irfaan Ali invited foreign investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to explore the abundance of natural resources available in Guyana.
“I invite you all to come and do business in my country. We welcome you; we have an open economy, and with investor-friendly policies in place, including attractive incentive regimes, laws which protect the right to property, and which also allows freedom to repatriate profits.”

President Ali added that Guyana needs to convert its abundant resources, material and human, into wealth, and thence to translate this wealth into human prosperity, but to do so, investments are needed.
“We need investment to drive our transformative agenda, and we are keen on attracting investments across all sectors,” he said.
The Head-Of-State was accompanied by First Lady Arya Ali; Tourism and Industry and Commerce Minister Oneidge Walrond; Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh; and Go-Invest CEO, Dr. Peter Ramsaroop.
