LINDEN’S Annalisa Barclay departed Guyana recently to attend Lincoln University. The institution is located in Jefferson City, Missouri.
The school competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division Two, Mid-America Conference.
Barclay, known for her brilliance in the Long and Triple Jump, will now suit-up for ‘The Blue Tigers’ after accepting a Full Scholarship.
While at Lincoln University, Barclay will be studying for a Bachelors of Science in Psychology.
The National athlete attended Mackenzie High School and President’s College. She holds a personal best of 5.64 metres in the Long Jump and 11.86 metres in the Triple Jump.
Barclay also represented President’s College at the National Schools Basketball Championship, hosted by Youth Basketball Guyana.
At the 2018 IBF Antilles U-18 3×3 Championship, Barclay teamed up with Saffiya Greene, Lydia Roberts and Roschelle Campbell to represent Guyana at the event which was hosted at Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
She was also named Most Valuable Player of YBG’s Titan Bowl.
Barclay was set to represent Guyana at this year’s CARIFTA Games, which was cancelled because of COVID-19.
