OLYMPIAN Keevin Allicock will lead a Guyana team of three boxers to the American Boxing Confederation (AMBC) Elite Championship in Colombia from September 25 to October 4, 2021.
According to president of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), Steve Ninvalle, Allicock will be joined by light-welterweight Collin Lewis, middleweight Desmond Amsterdam coach Terrence Poole (MS). “The Elite Championship gives us another chance to not only expose our boxers, two of whom have not fought since 2019 when it was the Caribbean Championship, but it also gives us a chance to gauge where we are within Latin America and the Americas,” Ninvalle said.
The GBA president said “This is a very important championship for us. Guyana has been at most of the AMBC championships in the past and this year would be no different.”
