THE Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) wrapped up a successful exhibition match last week at Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, with the Senior National volleyball team being handed an upset by the National Under-23 unit.
The Seniors fell in 4 sets to their younger opponents, with the first set of the game going to the U-23 team who beat the Seniors 25-21. The second set saw the Seniors fall prey once more to the U-23 team losing 21-25. The Seniors avoided being swept in straight sets after they annihilated the U-23 team in the third set to a score of 25-16.

The fourth set was the most competitive set of the night which saw the U-23 team closing out the game and cementing their victory over the seniors by a score of 30-28. The top scorers for the National U-23 team were Kristoff Shepperd who had 10 points, Tyrone Farley with 8 points and Ronaldo Bobb with 7 points. The top-scorers for the Seniors were stars, Quacy Matheson and Vance Harding who both tallied 11 points while Trevon McRae chipped in with 8 points. Meanwhile, GVF will continue to push for volleyball to be played on a consistent basis and also to enhance the level of volleyball in and across Guyana.
