‘Moonlight’ charged for fatally stabbing fellow vendor

KIMBIA James Prescod, also known as “Bow Life” or “Moonlight,” who allegedly stabbed a fellow vendor to death during an argument, on Monday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.

Prescod was not required to plead to the indictable charge of murder which states that he on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Stabroek, Georgetown, murdered Robert Bizzeth, called “Brick” and “Channa Man.”

According to the prosecution, Prescod and Bizzeth are known to each other and are both vendors at the Stabroek Market.

On the date mentioned in the charge, the two had an argument which escalated when Bizzeth armed himself with an axe and Prescod picked up a knife.

During the argument, Prescod allegedly inflicted several stab wounds about Bizzeth’s body before running into the market.

Bizzeth on the other hand, ran to the Stabroek Police Outpost to report the incident. He was later escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was pronounced dead.

Later that day, Prescod was arrested at a location on Camp Street.

The matter was adjourned until Thursday, July 29, 2021.
