AN argument and confrontation between two Stabroek Market vendors, on Tuesday afternoon, turned deadly when one was stabbed multiple times and collapsed at a police mobile outpost, where he ran for assistance.

Dead is Robert Bizzette, 35, called “Brick”, a food vendor of Cane View Avenue, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown. The 46-year-old perpetrator was arrested by police.

Police said that on Tuesday, around 16:30 hours, Bizzette and the suspect had an argument about the placement of a stall during which he drew a “jucker” and threatened the suspect.

The suspect retaliated by pushing him and drawing a knife. The argument continued and Bizzette then chased behind the suspect, armed with an axe in his hand while the suspect was armed with the knife.

However, the suspect fell to the ground and Bizzette stopped chasing him. As Bizzette was walking away, the suspect dealt him several stabs to the body.

Bizzette then ran to a nearby police mobile outpost where he fell to the ground and was immediately escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he died while receiving treatment.

The perpetrator was later contacted and arrested at Camp and New Market Streets by an anti-crime patrol. Investigations are ongoing.
