REGIONAL technology company, PBS Technologies Inc., on Tuesday, opened its flagship local office at Goedverwagting, on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD).
The company offers a range of solutions for the government, financial, retail and commercial sectors and works alongside some of the leading Information and Communication Technology (ICT) manufacturers in the world on major projects in the region.
Territory Head of PBS, Jason Sahai, noted the importance of the launch, stating: “Now, more than ever, we in Guyana must demonstrate that we are capable, competent and competing at a global level. With resources spanning the Caribbean Region, including our home-grown tech experts in Guyana, we are ready to use our talent to drive innovation for our customers.” He noted that the opening of the state-of-the-art facility is an investment in the Guyanese people. The facility is said to offer “accelerator-type programmes” to develop and harness the talent of young people in digital technologies.

In November 2020, the company, then known as Massy Technologies (Guyana) Inc., was acquired by regional giant, the Musson Group and renamed PBS Technologies (Guyana) Inc. The company now has a stronger regional footprint and a more diverse portfolio of products and services, operating in 22 countries in the Caribbean and Central America, with over 2,100 IT professionals, over 50 years’ experience in multiple markets and over US$250 million in annual revenues.
Musson Group’s Chairman, P.B. Scott, PBS Group’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pedro Paris and other senior executives are in Guyana from May 17 to 21, to launch the flagship office, and meet with the PBS Guyana team. While COVID-19 has led to the closure or downsizing of several regional businesses, the opening of PBS Tech’s flagship office signals the increased importance of technology and digital solutions in a world dramatically altered by the pandemic.
PBS Technologies has been helping many of its regional partners adapt digitally to the “new normal.”
