DUE to persistent rain for most of Friday and yesterday morning, the start of the much-anticipated Big Man Cricket has been delayed.
The first round of matches fixed for yesterday was postponed and will be played off at a later date.
In yesterday’s encounters, Essequibo Eagles were expected to play GT Royal Rangers at the Imam Bacchus ground. Two games were billed for the GCC ground with West Bank Warriors and Jai Hind coming against each other while Upper Corentyne Rangers were expected to oppose Timothy Masters.
The other game in the opening round was set for Enmore with Real Warriors facing West Dem Vipers.
However, according to the organisers, once there is an improvement in the weather and the venues are in a playable condition, todaym round two matches will proceed.
