Alvin Mohabir spun his way to 6-27 in the U-17 clash.

FORMER National U-15 all-rounder Alvin Mohabir unravelled the Demerara Cricket Club’s (DCC) batting line-up to help Transport Sports Club achieve a 47-run victory in their U-17 battle, which was played recently at DCC ground.
Transport won the toss and opted to take first strike in the 45-over affair.
DCC Youths were up to the task and their line and length kept the first 10 overs of the game tight. In fact the pair of Jeremiah Hohenkirk and Ryan Latif laboured to 23 in 10 overs. In the 13th over, with the score on 33 the partnership was broken.
Latif scored 17 and Hohenkirk 19.
Gabriel Rookhum made a quick 25 (4×4), while Shaquan Walters, who got off the mark with a six over long-on, added 19 (2×4, 1×6), which helped to push the score to 162.

Shilo Adams struck 50 to lead Transport SC against Ace Warriors in the T20 match.

Young Jaden Dowlin, son of Travis Dowlin, finished with 3-28, while Gustavo Hutson took 3-19, Idris Allen 2-7 and Daniel Mootoo 2-11.
In their turn in the middle, the home team was undermined by the guile of Mohabir, who used his off-spin well. He picked up 6-27 from 8.2 overs.
Jonathan Van Lange had 25, while former National U-15 batsman Shamar Yearwood added a quick 21, but it was not enough as DCC folded for 115 in 43.4 overs.
Riyad Latif and Dave Mohabir supported Mohabir with two wickets each.
On Sunday, the two teams are set to battle again at the same venue, this time in an U-19 practice match.

TWENTY-OVER BATTLE
Prior to that clash, Transport SC also had the better of Ace Warriors by 46 runs when the two battled in a 20-over affair.
Ace Warriors won the toss and had asked the home team to bat. Wicketkeeper batsman Shilo Adams led the charge with an even 50 (3×4, 1×6).
Akeem Redman supported with an aggressive 26 after belting three maximums, which propelled Transport SC to 120 in 18.3 overs.
Sherwin White led Ace Warriors’ bowling attack with 3-25, while Roger Aaron took 2-29 and Wayne Whyte 2-4.
Ace Warriors were never comfortable in the middle. O. Favorite (17), Wayne Whyte (16) and Roger Aaron (16) all had starts, but none managed to get the big score, and were restricted to 74 all out in 19.2 overs. Bowling for Transport, Noel Haynes took 2-24 and Shaquan Walters 2-1.
