-sustains severe injuries to head, body

A TEENAGER who was speeding on an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) sustained severe injuries on Sunday, after he lost control and crashed on the Arakaka Access Road, North West District, Region one.
The red ATV is the property of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) and was being used by the 19-year-old shopkeeper of Arakaka Compound Northwest district.

Police said inquiries disclosed that the ATV was proceeding east along the Arakaka access road at a fast rate of speed, when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to turn turtle several times. The teen fell off and received several injuries to his head and body.

He was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Pakera District Hospital and then later to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he remains a patient.

Investigations are ongoing.
