Guyanese artiste anxious to come home and share his music

OVERSEAS-based Guyanese musician Daniel Chilcott, alias ‘Rah Righteous,’ has said that he is coming home this year and bringing his music with him, even as he was prevented from doing so twice last year because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The rapper and singer-songwriter, representing 521 Music, was born in Georgetown; on the edge of Charlestown, very close to Albouystown, and migrated to the United States of America with his family some 19 years ago.

He has been stationed in Brooklyn, New York, and has co-founded the 521 Music Company, where he also operates as an artist; writing, recording, and releasing music through it.
Chilcott has also been able to perform his songs at venues all over New York and surrounding cities to bring awareness to his music and the company.
“I released my debut album, a 6-song EP named Bride’s Luck in September of 2020. My song ‘Pepper Pot’ is on that project. It is my most popular song to date and has garnered a lot of attention from audiences in the States as well as Guyana,” he told the Buzz this week.

Chilcott has been making waves in New York with his music

He had originally released Pepper Pot in December 2019 but the demand for it was so strong again in 2020 that he said he had to re-release it.
“I’ve been able to have it played on the radio and I was invited to perform it at many big shows especially in December during the Christmas season,” he recalled.
He and his partners are working to strengthen their foundation in the music industry and to help build a solid platform to present their music and bring their stories to life.
“We are currently establishing partnerships with local venues where we will host our own events. We will invite artistes to perform and also collaborate with vendors to sell their products at the events.”

Chilcott said he would love to bring his talents and team to Guyana so that they can see “my beautiful country.” “Making music and performing it at home would be a dream come true for me. I’m sure it will happen one day.”
He came back to Guyana in December 2010 and again in April 2012, and was supposed to come home twice last year, but the virus got in the way both times. “I want all my Guyanese people to know I’ll be home this year and I’m bringing ‘Pepper Pot’ with me.”
Chilcott is encouraging everyone to listen to his music. “My album is called ‘Bride’s Luck’ and it’s available on all streaming platforms (Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, YouTube, etc.) I would also like everyone to follow me on Instagram @RahRighteous to get updates on everything I’m doing in 2021 and to subscribe to my YouTube page to receive all my music and videos first.”
