WHILE many Essequibians were busy saying goodbye to a dismal 2020, the Davidson family of Queenstown Village in Region Two started off their 2021 with a new bundle of joy.

Theirs was the first baby to be born in the county of Essequibo to 23- year-old Natasha Davidson; her baby girl arrived 42 minutes after midnight during a normal delivery.

Davidson was admitted to the Suddie Public Hosptial on December 31, 2020 after experiencing immense labour pain. She was welcomed by midwife, Patricia Bridgemohan, who guided her throughout her delivery.

The new born is Davidson’s third child. An elated Davison said she is thankful that her baby girl is healthy as she expressed initial fear of the COVID-19 pandemic.

She thanked the management and staff of the Suddie Public Hospital for their care and guidance. Davidson is expected to take home her bundle of joy in two days’ time.
