Uitvlugt man found dead

POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 51-year-old Hubert Henry, who was found dead at his De-Groot Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara house on Christmas Day.

The man’s 26-year-old son, Shivnanand Henry, told police that he found him lying on the ground in front the outdoor washroom at around 03:30 hours and so he picked him up and took him to bed.

Later in the day, at about 06:30 hours, the young man observed that his father was motionless and he made a report to the Leonora Police Station. Police Headquarters, in a statement, noted that the elder Henry was an alcoholic who suffered from epilepsy.

“It was revealed that the deceased normally consume alcohol and lay down several places including the bottom of his house,” the police release noted.

According to the release, the body was examined and blood stains were seen on his stomach and his right ear. The body is at the Ezekiel funeral Parlor awaiting a post mortem examination. Investigations are ongoing.
