A LANDLORD in Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo, discovered his tenant lying motionless on a bed in his apartment, after calling out to him several times, on Wednesday.
Dead is Azad Khan, 54. The unemployed man was discovered at 17:00hrs.
Reports indicated that Khan lived alone and was last seen alive on Wednesday about 07:00hrs by his landlord. The landlord at the time was heading to work. On his return home, around 17:00hrs, he called out several times for Khan but got no response.
Subsequently, the landlord, while looking through a window situated by the bedroom of Khan, observed him lying motionless.
The police were then contacted and the body was examined by detectives and no marks of violence were found. However, what appears to be ejected matter from the stomach was seen on his bed and his mouth.
The body was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where it was examined and pronounced dead by a doctor on duty. It was subsequently taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour awaiting autopsy as investigation continues.
