A 29-year-old Queenstown resident is currently hospitalised at the Suddie Public Hospital after he was chopped to his face during an argument with his drinking buddy on Tuesday.
The injured man has been identified as Mortimer Sooknanan of Centenary.
According to reports reaching this publication, the two friends were imbibing at a shop at Anna Regina Squatting Area when an argument ensued between them. The suspect, who is a miner by profession, reportedly removed a knife from his waist and chopped Sooknanan to the left side face.
Sooknanan later made a report at the Anna Regina Police Station. He was taken to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
The suspect was arrested and the knife retrieved from his person.
Police are continuing their investigations.
