THE fashion business in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) is getting competitive with each passing day, as more and more young women are opening businesses.
One such woman is 22-year-old Malesha Deonarine of Windsor Castle, Essequibo.
On Monday, Deonarine fulfilled her dream when she opened the doors to her clothing store. Located in the bottom flat of Barakat Mall in Henrietta, “Sassy Store” is offering the region’s residents trendy and brand name clothing, accessories, and cosmetics at an affordable cost. Men’s clothing and fragrances will soon be available.
A make-up artist by profession, Deonarine said that it was always her passion and dream to own her own business, and, with sacrifice, dedication and determination, she has proudly accomplished that dream.
She recalled that she had less than two weeks to paint and decorate her store so that it could have been transformed into a comfortable space to provide trendy styles to women.
Persons can also have their make-up done at the store.

Speaking at the simple opening ceremony, the young entrepreneur said that she plans to take fashion to another level, particularly with women in mind.
Deonarine said that often persons want to “dress up” and look good but there are not many options on the Essequibo Coast, mainly because of its geographic location. She assured that with the appropriate venue at Barakat Mall, women will be able to find what they are looking for during one visit.
The young woman who lives by the motto, “Always be exclusive, be divine and be yourself,” encouraged persons to shop at her store where quality never goes out of style.
During the opening, special promotions for customers were revealed. The promotions will be offered during the upcoming Christmas season.
