FORTY-eight-year-old entrepreneur, Diane Sinclair is hoping to “jump-start” the economy with her business concept of an Almond Tree Farmers’ Market.
Sinclair, during an interview with this newspaper, said that many small businesses have suffered tremendously as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but she believes that a farmers’ market will afford them opportunities for future marketing both locally and internationally.
The enthusiastic businesswoman said that she has a building that was used to house a gym, but due to the pandemic, she was forced to close, but has since come up with a plan to have it accommodate small businesses.

The market, she said, will create a lively community space for the sale of homegrown, organic, repurposed, eco-friendly handicraft products among other items.
The market will be held on November 14, 21, 28 and December 5, 2020 from 07:00h – 13:00h, indoors and outdoors, at Lot 229 Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown, Georgetown.
The businesswoman is encouraging persons to see the farmers’ market as a positive initiative.

“It will be a market with a difference; it is geared at helping small businesses earn, as they have already suffered due to the pandemic,” Sinclair said.
Four of the market’s stalls will be given free of charge to children between the ages of 8-14, as part of Sinclair’s Encouraging Early Entrepreneurship (EEE) programme. The market will also feature live music by local musicians such as Gavin Mendonca and Drummer Chucky.

Persons can make contact with Sinclair on 697-2463 or 623-7240.
