A CHICKEN vendor of Seadam, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara is in a stable condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) nursing a gunshot wound to his right elbow after he was shot on Sunday night by person (s) unknown.
According to the police, 43-year-old Shemroy King was standing on the eastern parapet of Seadam having a conversation with the mother of his child at around 20:30h, when he heard a loud explosion, and immediately felt a burning sensation in his right elbow. He told the police that upon seeing blood running down his elbow, he realised that he’d been shot, and immediately joined a taxi and proceeded to the GPHC. Doctors on duty there recovered one warhead from his right hand.
Police say checks were made to locate the ‘child-mother’ but without any success, and that several persons were also questioned, but nothing useful came out of that exercise either.
