Koberimo villagers urged to join GPF

POLICE Commander Superintendent Jairam Ramlakhan has urged residents of Koberimo Village, North West District, Region One to join the Guyana Police Force (GPF) during a recent community outreach there.

Superintendent Ramlakhan, who was accompanied by a team of officers, explained the new recruitment procedures, pointing out that applications must be submitted to the regional police commander, who would conduct the first interview and do background checks.

Following his explanation of the recruitment process, the commander said several follow-up visits will be made to the community in the coming weeks as he listened and recorded a number of concerns raised by the residents, which he promised will be addressed promptly.
The superintendent also urged all residents to observe the COVID- 19 guidelines.

Meanwhile, at Mabaruma, a Station Management Committee was elected and Superintendent Ramlakhan ensured that each member received a copy of the committee’s Standard Operating Procedures. The committee seeks to promote and enable a better working environment for police officers at the said station. The members pledged to do their best in collaborating with the police to fulfil the mandate of the committee.
