A MAN who was wanted in connection with the murder of Earl Peters, a pensioner, on September 05, 2020, on Monday stabbed a policeman several times about the body at the Port Kaituma Police Station.
He was subsequently arrested.
Police Lance Corporal Bertland Scotland was stabbed on his left hand, left hip, left lower abdomen, left eye brow and left buttock by the 27-year-old unemployed man of Arakaka, North West District.
Police said the suspect is also wanted for seriously wounding Troy Roberts, who is presently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and Police Constable Edwards at the Arakaka Police Outpost on August 20, 2020.
According to the police, “Today, acting upon information received, ranks went to S1A Junction, One Mile, Port Kaituma, NWD where they confronted the suspect in the upper flat of a two-storey building, and during the process apprehended him. He whipped out a knife and wounded the Lance Corporal, who initially received medical attention at the Port Kaituma District Hospital, but is now en route to the Eugene Correia International Airport via medivac. His condition is regarded as serious but stable.”
