CABINET has approved the appointment of new board of directors for the Guyana Water Inc. (GWI) and the Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL).  The appointments of the new boards were published in the Official Gazette under the hand of Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, Gail Teixeira, and took effect on August 27, 2020 for a period of one year.

The chairman for the GWI board is Ramesh Dookhoo, while the other members are Dharamkumar Seeraj, Dr. Sixtus Edwards, Shellan Belgrave, Omar Narine, Rondha Lam-Singh, Frank Sanichara, Dr. Asha Kissoon, Wendell Jeffery and Dhanraj Singh.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the new GPL board is Maurice Gajadhar. The other members are Alfred King, Dr. Mahender Sharma, Nicholas Boyer, Marcel Gaskin, Komal Ramnauth, Shabeer Hussein, Dr. Sixtus Edwards and Godfrey Washington.
