Seven in Region Two recover from COVID-19

DR AFARAH KHAN, Regional Health Officer of Region Two, has reported that seven of eight persons in the region, who were tested positive for COVID-19, have since recovered from the disease.

One patient, a child, remains in insolation.

Guyana Chronicle understands that the majority of active cases within the region were from the riverine communities in the Pomeroon. Health officials indicated that rapid testing has been conducted in those areas.

Dr. Khan said that over 140 persons have been tested in the Region. Khan also made request for more personal protective attire for frontline workers, as well as testing kits.
