The decomposed body of a miner, who reportedly drowned on Monday, was fished out from the Blackwater Backdam, Kuribrong River, Region Eight, on Friday morning.

Dead is 26-year-old Owen Charles, a miner of One Mile, Wismar, Linden.

Reports indicate that he died around 16:00hrs on Monday at Blackwater Backdam, Kuribrong, and it was not until Friday persons recovered his body.

Charles’ body was escorted to a funeral home in Linden where it is waiting to be transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) for post- mortem.

Police are investigating the incident.
