Body of man found at Wharf

THE partly decomposed body of an unidentified man was, on Wednesday afternoon, discovered between mudflats at the Rambarran Wharf, New Hope, East Bank Demerara.

The body, which is presently at Lyken Funeral Parlour, is of African descent.

The discovery was made around 14:30hrs by persons in the area.

The body was discovered face downwards, the head to the south and feet north about 40 feet from the eastern bank of the Demerara River.

At the time of the discovery, the body was clad in discoloured long jeans and discoloured under pants marked ‘werewolf. ’ He also had dreadlocks.

His height is about six feet, medium built, dark complexion and weighed about 180 lbs.
No marks of violence were seen on the exposed part of his body. No form of ID was found on his person.

The body was escorted to the Lyken Funeral Parlour where it is awaiting identification and post mortem examination.
