THE People’s Progressive Party in its Labour Day message saluted the resoluteness and of health workers and other essential service providers, who remain on the frontline during this period.

The PPP however said that much more needs to be done to protect health workers. “The PPP calls on the APNU+AFC Coalition to recognise this and act forthwith,” the PPP said.
The Party said it noted the address by President David Granger on Thursday where he said: “Workers in essential and public services are continuing to provide critical support to the rest of the population.” The party said that this and other lofty comments about the contributions of the frontline workers “ring hollow” in the face of the failure of the APNU+AFC Coalition to support the workers.

Further, the party said that this year’s observance of Labour Day is taking place in challenging political environment.
