THE Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha (GHDS), through its ‘Feed a Family’ initiative, successfully distributed 1,400 food hampers in Georgetown and on the East Bank and East Coast of Demerara.

According to President of GHDS, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, the hampers were distributed to the elderly, single parent families, families with children, and without breadwinners.
Food Hampers were distributed in Kitty, Sophia, Cummings Lodge, Industry, Vigilance, Enterprise, Bladen Hall, Non Pareil, Strathspey, Prospect, Coldingen, Herstelling, Providence, Covent Garden, Foulis, La Bonne Intention, Montrose, Better Hope and Good Hope.
The hampers included basic food items. Dr. Persaud said her heart goes out to persons who are struggling and experiencing serious hardship during the pandemic. In the coming weeks, the Sabha will be distributing more food hampers in other communities. The Sabha President said she would, therefore, like to sincerely thank all those who contributed to Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha’s “Feed a Family” initiative.

The Sabha has also been distributing face masks to residents of various communities.
