TWO men, who were identified as 28-year-old Lawrence Harper, a porter of Lot 592 Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara and 32-year-old Stanley Mann, were on April 20, 2020, charged with two counts of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

Ranks of the police force, on Saturday, acting on information received, intercepted a minibus with Harper and Mann at Mabura, Upper Demerara River, and conducted a search during which they discovered 89 grammes of cocaine, along with 6,818 grammes of cannabis.

The duo appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court before Her Worship, Wanda Fortune, and pleaded guilty to both charges. They were sentenced to four (4) years in prison on each charge and fined $240,300.00. The sentences are to run concurrently.
