Girlfriend threatens cop

…firearm and ammo lodged

A POLICE Corporal, who was indicted for trafficking 24 kilograms of marijuana, is now assisting investigators after his female lover threatened him with a gun.

According to information received, the cop, of Ferry Street, New Amsterdam, went to the Central Police Station earlier on Monday, where he made a report, alleging that he was seated in his car at Chapel Street, talking to his girlfriend, a nurse, who is attached to the New Amsterdam Hospital.

The conversation centred on a cellular phone.
However, during the heated discussion, the 23-year-old nurse allegedly took out a gun from her working bag and pointed the weapon at the policeman.
The gun was taken away from her and the cop drove to Central Police Station where he made a report.

At the station, the TAURUS pistol #TB 10148, along with two live rounds of .32 ammunition was collected by a rank on duty.

Shortly afterwards, the nurse visited the station and was arrested. After being questioned, she admitted having the gun. However, she claimed the weapon was borrowed from a popular barber.

The barber was arrested, but he denied the allegation.
Additionally, the barber’s home was searched, but nothing of evidential value was unearthed.

The investigations are ongoing.
