AS a Guyanese I am proud to know that the giant U.S. Citibank is coming to Guyana. This shows great confidence in our economy and in the management of it.

Citibank has been a partner with Guyana as a correspondent bank when many others have stayed clear as Guyana was trying to deal with money laundering, which flowed from dirty money when the marco-trade flourished under the previous government.

Today, many top U.S. companies want to do business in Guyana, just like American Airlines; there are some 18 other airlines that want to add Guyana to their international destinations.

We must welcome our American partners!
