CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras, software and various technologies to enhance the safety of businesses and private residences are now exclusively available at STARR Computer as the company opened a new store.

The business, located at 57 Chalmers Place, Georgetown, was formally opened on Friday at a simple ceremony.

According to President of STARR Computer, Mike Mohan, a massive inflow of job- seeking migrants and refugees will be visiting Guyana as the country attracts incentives for foreign investors.

And as expected, he explained that Guyana will be faced with increased security challenges.

“With over two decades of security experience, STARR introduces predictive security solution for the Guyanese consumer. Crime-fighting is everybody’s business in Guyana, and STARR has taken the initiative to open a new Technology division,” Mohan said.
Underscoring that the new store will focus on the expected rising security concerns that will face Guyanese in the future, he said with two decades of experience, STARR Computer is in an advantageous position with the latest in “cutting edge” technologies that features “end to end solution”.

At the entrance of the store, customers can use a computer kiosk to research the details of security items in stock

He explained that the store has a wide range of high-quality surveillance cameras and NVRs from leading manufactures, including Honeywell, Q-See and Hikvision.
“Smart artificial intelligent software with crime predictive features is in their new breathtaking lineup. The software with number plate recognition, facial biometry, weapon detection, video synopsis, follow-me sequence, and drone integration is one of its biggest attraction. Other security products includes walk through and body security scanners, security guard management tools, biometric devices, smart home appliances along with a full lineup of support accessories,” Mohan said.

By partnering directly with International Surveillance vendors, Mohan said the company was able to negotiate preferred pricing structure which will be passed on to its valued customers.

He said that the 2, 000 plus STARR Platinum members and resellers will benefit from preferred pricing and backup support.

“The goals of STARR is to work along with existing small resellers and installers to enhance their customer’s installation across Guyana with artificial intelligence and a wider range of options,” he said.
