THE dominant ABFC female team have made their way into the final of the Atkinson Brothers Five-A-Side Floodlight Football tournament, which is set to culminate on Boxing Night at the Kumaka Recreational Ground in Santa Rosa, Region One.
Armed with senior national footballer Annalisa Vincent, the side has won all three of their preliminary games, including a tough 1-0 win against Kyrie Flames on Monday evening.
An own-goal proved to be the decider in that clash.
Kyrie Flames, who are favourites to join the ABFC side, had defeated the All-Star Blazers 2-1 in their opener on Sunday night.
ABFC, who had opened with a 1-0 win against All-Star Blazers on Saturday night, romped to a 3-0 win against Rincon United FC on Sunday evening.
Vincent, who scored twice against Rincon and the lone goal against Blazers settled into a more defence role on the third night. The youngster was key for the Silver Sands FC in their seven-time defence of their female title. This year, the ace Region One female football team did not compete, so Vincent opted to play with ABFC.
Along with the females, the tournament also features seniors, U-15 and U-17 competitions, which are all set to be completed on Boxing Night.
