CHIEF Magistrate Ann McLennan, on Friday, December 20, 2019, remanded a miner to prison, on a larceny charge.
Delroy Boyce of Kingston appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and denied the charge, when it was read to him.
Particulars of the charge stated that, on December 17, 2019, at Brickdam, Georgetown, he stole a phone valued at $55,000, a bag valued at $3000 and $25,000 cash, property of Ananda Dune.
According to information, on the day in question, Dune was standing on Brickdam when Boyce walked up to her and snatched her bag and her phone and ran.
Dune raised an alarm and Boyce was arrested by police on duty in the area.
Magistrate McLennan, after listening to the information provided, remanded Boyce to prison and adjourned that matter until January 3, 2020.
