IN an annual tradition that started way back in 1978, the Gafoors Group of Companies on Sunday held its grand Christmas fete at its McDoom Mega Complex, East Bank Demerara, and as usual attracted scores of children and senior citizens.
They came from various villages, orphanages and geriatric homes across the country, and were shuttled back home by Gafoors transportation services upon the conclusion of the event.

The event also had a Santa Claus on hand to help share out all the goodies the company had in store for the scores of children in attendance.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sattaur Gafoor and his wife, Ameena, along with relatives and staff of the company were actively involved in the distribution of food and gifts to their guests.
Mr. Gafoor also gifted cash to senior citizens, take away lunches, desert and blankets. Everyone at the event was treated to hot meals and a gift.
The company has a tradition of bringing cheer to the less fortunate during the festive season as the company has been feeding the less fortunate for over the decades.
The company is also involved in many other charitable works.
