A 53-year-old mother of nine whose house went up in flames on Monday morning at Novar, Mahaicony East Coast Demerara is now homeless.

Reports are that Dularie Lall was asleep in the house with four of her children when the fire started.

It reportedly started in the wee hours of the morning, and within minutes, the wooden structure in which they’d lived for the past 23 years was burnt completely.
The family was unable to save anything of value, and is surprised that there was a fire, since the house had no electricity.

Dularie was reportedly burnt about the body while trying to see what she could salvage, and had to be taken to the Mahaicony Hospital, where she was treated and sent away.
