PRESIDENT David Granger, along with ministers and other officials of the government, on Friday, joined with members of the Hanoman family to bid farewell to their patriarch, Dr. Carl ‘Max’ Alton Hanoman.

Dr Hanoman died on November 6, 2019 after a period of illness.
President Granger offered his condolences to the wife, children and other family members who gathered at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Brickdam, for the farewell service.

Dr. Hanoman served in the National Assembly as a Member of Parliament, on the Guyana Medical Association and at the University of Guyana as the Director of the School of Medicine and also played an integral role in its accreditation. He also sat on the Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy and was the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

He was conferred with the Cacique Crown of Honour in 2016 for his long, dedicated and outstanding work in the medical field.
