“CHANGE starts with you, take massive action,” Brianca Marshall said as she launched ‘Grown2Lead’, a new dynamic leadership company which seeks to arouse the leadership skills within individuals and add greater value to high achievers, chief executive officers and potential leaders.
‘Grown2Lead’, which was founded by Marshall, was launched recently at the Herdmanston Lodge on Peter Rose Street, Queenstown. Marshall, who is the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer, said it was her personal experiences that propelled her to begin to unlock her true potential, thereby transforming her life for the better.

Marshall, a certified speaker and coach, during what can be termed an interactive discourse with her audience, said it was her personal life experiences that motivated her to create the training institute to help others who may be fighting to discover themselves.
As Marshall retraced her steps from then to what she has become now, she urged participants to stop living in the shadow of other people. “You need to first recognise there is need for a change in the way you operate presently; why there is need for a change and be willing to make a choice and let go of some habits,” she told those present. Consistency and commitment are also critical to the process, she added.
Premendra Parsan, Certified Business Coach and Action Coach; Athalyah Yisrael, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Outliers Zone; and Keon Smith, a certified business and action coach were among the other presenters during the launching ceremony.

Yisrael, whose company aims to help employees end the ‘pay-cheque-to-pay cheque’ cycle and build a generational legacy of wealth, told the audience that change can only come in one’s life when the individual knows who they are, and to whom they belong. Outliers Zone is the only personal financial training institute in Guyana that teaches individuals how to break their financial identity, she added.
Yisrael disclosed that she had experiences with money before creating the business in February 2018. She used a piggy bank to illustrate to the audience when they earn money how much they should spend, save, donate and invest.
According to her, a basic question one needs to ask themselves is whether the purpose for their earning money is for financial purposes, for assets, liability, retirement or to become a millionaire. Of the latter, she explained the meaning of each in one’s life, for example retirement means financial freedom.
Parsan, who is also the proprietor of Oriental Furniture Store located in the city, based his topic on ‘Self Leadership’. He recalled working in the family business right after leaving school, but according to him, one cannot lead oneself if one is not in charge.
He identified denial, change of environment and identity as the core areas of focus. Parsan further urged participants to use as their mantra to succeed, the quote “I will prioritise what I value most over what I value now.”
For Smith, he used the acronym `PILOT’ to illustrate his ideas of becoming the pilot of one life. “For this to be derived one needs to inculcate potential: getting rid of the self- inflicting beliefs like I can’t and use instead I will; implementation – noting that motivation is what get one started but it is the habit that keep you going,” Smith said.
On this note, he remarked that it takes 21 days to build a lifestyle but 90 days to build a habit.
During the event, an emotional Marshall presented tokens of appreciation to four individuals – her husband, mom, father and step-mom, whom she described as the pillars on which she stood tall to launch her company.
