SENIOR Magistrate Leron Daly, on Friday October 25, 2019, ordered a 32-year-old man to pay $60,000 fine or serve six months’ imprisonment on break and enter and larceny charge.
Gregory Ellis appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
Particular of the charge stated that, between October 19, 2019 and October 20, 2019, he broke and entered the business place of Gregory Camacho and stole seven cases of fruit juice valued at $25,000.
Police prosecutor Christopher Morris told the court that, on October 20, 2019, around 00:11 hours Camacho secured his business place and left. Hours after, Camacho received a call which caused him to return to his business premises When he arrived he saw his business place was broken. A search was conducted and Ellis was found coming out of a trench with the juice.
The matter was reported and Ellis was arrested and charged.
Magistrate Daly ordered Ellis to pay $60,000 fine or serve six months in prison.
