A FAMILY of six of Kumu Village Region 9 (Upper Takatu / Upper Essequibo) is seeking assistance, after their home went up in flames on Friday October 11, 2019.
Sources told the Guyana Chronicle that Thomas Nacimento Francis (26) and his family lost their home, after an over-charged battery exploded on the premises.
Francis had lived in Kumu for all of his life, with his partner Elsa George and their four children Junior Francis, Rihanna Francis, Joel George and Tihanna.
Sources also confirmed that the mother of the children left home for work on Friday while the Father went on an errand, leaving a 4-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son asleep in the home.
The little girl, after realising that their home was on fire, reportedly, ran and managed to pull her brother to safety. Their home was burnt to ashes.
The Francis family is at this time seeking the assistance of the general public to put their lives back together.
The Francis Family estimates their loss to be in the millions.
