PARTICIPANTS of the Indigenous Heritage Pageant recently benefitted from a presentation on the fourth Industrial Revolution by STARR Computer.

The ladies were given a tour of the company and an insight into its operations, hands and interaction with the latest technology products in the company’s Innovative Centre.
According to Sales Manager, Penny Francis, the visit enlightened the participants on new technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, drones, 3D printing and the new careers that will be created.

President of STARR Computer, Mike Mohan, said the fourth Industrial Revolution presentation was intended to broaden local awareness of global technology advancements and to engage in discussions about the need to access that technology and adapt it to suit local developmental needs.

“In this technological age, we cannot afford to leave our young people behind,” Mohan said.
Mohan said digital transformation is happening almost everywhere in the world, from cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) to blockchain technology and automation, and the ‘Internet of things’.

Smart vehicles and appliances and technological advances, he said, are transforming nearly every aspect of business.

He said the skills to adapt to these changes are essential as well as access to control over and full use of technology.
