GO for Glory, a book written by Guyanese author, Kezqweyah Yisrael, has achieved the Number One Bestseller status, amassing over 3,000 downloads within the first day of launch on Amazon.

Speaking to the Guyana Chronicle, Yisrael related that he saw a need for persons to be exposed to the knowledge on how they could go about improving their performance in their educational, personal and professional lives.

“The book was written for persons who are committed to high performance in their life. I look at the culture that we have in Guyana and the Caribbean and tried to help to solve the problem I see here. What I see is a lack of commitment to excellence, excellent customer service, excellent performance on the job, and excellent performance in the sports, cultural and artistic arena.”

“So to help address that problem, to help persons to raise their level of performance, I came up with the idea to do the book, to bring that level of awareness, to let persons know how simple it is to achieve excellence once they are committed to doing so,” said Yisrael.
Yisrael further went on to explain that his team decided to make the book free for the first day of it being online, as a way of giving as many persons the opportunity to have a copy of the book and get a chance to receive all of its contents.

He said they wanted to bridge the gap between persons not knowing what they would get when they purchase a book and them having the ability to know what they will receive in the book, and to allow persons to be able to have the knowledge for free. Yisrael then stated that the book is currently being sold for $2.99 USD.

“The first day we allowed the book to be for free, so that persons can get a taste of it, you know in our culture, we have guinep, taste and buy? Well that was our idea, we wanted persons to get a chance to test and taste our product. Generally authors and writers have the privilege of getting people to buy something that they didn’t even test. And since today people have not been putting out [content] that would be less than up to standard, because it has become so easy to put out content. what has happened is that there is distrust in the market place. So we wanted to use this opportunity to gain and build trust. Also allowing the book to be free it enabled the book to gain traction, so many persons were talking about it and telling other people to read it, download it, and so now that we attach a cost to it that is still affordable, persons are still buying it, downloading it, and telling others about it,” the author said.

Yisrael further went on to state that the book has achieved a wider level of success than he had anticipated, stating that it has been downloaded over 3,000 times in Europe, India, Australia, France, Spain, Mexico and Iran. When asked, Yisrael related that he plans to have the book available not only in electronic form but hard copy as well. The latter version he intends to release sometime in October.
