A DRUNKEN argument between two brothers, on Monday, led to one being killed at their Lot 471 Charlotte Street, Enterprise East Coast Demerara (ECD) home.
Dead is 47-year-old Satnarine Jattan called “Dalip” a painter, of Lot 471 Charlotte Street, Enterprise ECD. His brother, Javin Jattan, 45, who is a mason also lives at the same address.

Enquiries disclosed that Satnarine and Javin are brothers who lived with their 69 year-old mother Dassie Samaroo. According to Dasie Samaroo at about 10:00hrs on Monday her two sons began drinking vodka under their wooden house.

At approximately, 15:30hrs she heard them arguing over who bought the rum and whose turn it was to purchase. “I shouted on them telling them to stop that, and about five minutes after I checked on them, I saw Satnarine at the bathroom area in the yard lying and bleeding from his abdomen and he was not answering when I talked to him,” she said.
The woman said she panicked but threw some water on her son to revive him but there was no response. Her other son then left the yard without saying anything. Shortly after an alarm was raised and police were contacted.

Upon arrival of the police, Satnarine’s body was covered in a grey jersey and a multi-colored short pants. The body was escorted to the CC Nicholson Hospital at Nabaclis, ECD where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty. The body is currently at the Jerrick’s Funeral Parlour awaiting autopsy.

The mother of four sons and three daughters explained that her sons are not known to fight or get themselves into any trouble and it was a shock to discover what happened. She said her two sons were not married and fathered no children.
