–for third consecutive year
ONE hundred students, including new entrants to the secondary system and some still in the primary system, have been gifted with backpacks and other school supplies, compliments of Mrs. Maureen Davidson, wife of Bishop Charles Alexander Davidson of the Anglican Diocese of Guyana and Suriname.

The recipients were drawn from St Paul’s Primary, at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara; Linden Foundation Secondary, at Linden; Kingston Practical Instruction Centre, in Kingston, here in the city; as well as primary school children living in Tiger Bay and the High and Barrack Streets, Kingston areas.
The `Back-to-School Giveaway’ project, which is in its third consecutive year, was made possible through donations from family and friends of Mrs. Davidson who live overseas, along with some local businesses.
Mrs. Davidson has expressed her gratitude to the respective donors, local and overseas, who, through their generosity, have brought smiles to the faces of these children, as they prepare to embark upon a new school year.
