THE Ansa McAL Group of Companies hosted their launch event for Mix Radio 103.3 FM in Linden last Thursday. During the simple ceremony, Chairman of the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority (GNBA), Leslie Sobers, commended Mix FM for following the rules and regulations that govern the operations of radio stations.

He stated that the radio station has demonstrated an admirable level of responsibility as it relates to ensuring it follows any GNBA guidelines and related that the radio station had only once been called in for breach of any guideline under a minor infraction.

Sobers reminded the radio station of its influence over the citizens of Guyana and said that he hopes it will continue using its platform to benefit the people of Guyana. He also reminded them that using locally produced content would prove very beneficial in preserving the country’s culture.

“It is time for us to start looking inside ourselves for content, and also, I urge you to pay attention to that which is indigenous to Guyana as we strive to unite our region through indigenous content. There is so much to be learnt from all that happens in Guyana,” Sobers pointed out.

Director of iRadio Inc. now renamed Mix FM, and country head of Ansa McAL Group of Companies Guyana, Beverley Harper, during the ceremony, said that persons wishing to purchase air time or advertise with Mix FM can be assured that Mix FM is officially licensed.
Harper pointed out that Mix FM aims to continue being a supporter and distributor of locally produced content. She related the importance of showcasing local talent and content and made a public invitation for all local artiste with original pieces to take their pieces in to be aired.

Shameer Ali, technical manager of MIX FM, explained that the transmission system is built around a high-quality stat-of-the-art equipment layout.

Ali also explained that in an effort to ensure that the Radio Station reached as many persons as possible, “Mix radio can be heard by approximately 90 per-cent of the Guyanese population; no other station can match this coverage and by extension this is what we would term the best ever value for advertisers,” Ali also revealed that the Linden site has been on the air uninterrupted for the past 24 days.

In Demerara, MIX FM operates on the 90.1 frequency, and on 91.5 in Berbice. Both of these transmitters have received upgrades in December of 2018. In an effort to extend on Mix FM’s reach and extend its network, the Company installed a transmitter in Linden. Transmitting on103.3 FM.
