Police Force assists commander who lost home in fire

COMMANDER of ‘G’ Division (Essequibo Coast-Islands) Superintendent Crystal Robinson received cash and a food hamper from the Guyana Police Force, in the aftermath of a fire that destroyed her lot 154 Back Street Stewartville, West Coast Demerara home, on August 5, 2019.

Acting Police Commissioner Nigel Hoppie, handed over the items to Ms. Robinson in the Commissioner’s Conference Room recently in the presence of several Senior Officers, reassuring her of the Force’s commitment in supporting victims of disasters.
Ms Robinson was extremely pleased with the assistance and expressed sincere thanks to the Guyana Police Force for its support.

According to the commander she is not allowing the unfortunate situation to get her down.
The fire destroyed three vehicles that were in a garage and her home. The commander plans to start rebuilding soon.

The house was home to five persons, with four residing in the upper flat and the other in the lower flat, but no one was at home at the time of the fire.
